The Thunderbird Microfinance Association, partnered with Net Impact, is hosting a special event Next Tuesday, December 4th from 6 pm at Snell 23. Food will then be served at the pub from 7 pm. We will be privileged to have Jaime Barreiro from the BBVA Microfinance Foundation come speak to us on campus, followed by food, drinks, and networking in the pub. Mr. Barreiro is currently working in Panama City, Panama and has had an extensive career in financial inclusion throughout Latin America and we encourage those who have an interest in Micro-finance, CSR, or Sustainability to attend.

Speaker’s Bio:

Jaime Barreiro (Madrid, 1983) works for the BBVA Mico-finance Foundation since april 2009. Prior to that, he interned at one of the Foundation’s MFIs – Caja Nuestra Gente – across several different cities in Perú where he worked as a field officer. By interviewing clients and analyzing their business ideas he learned the principles of the industry which he went on to apply at the Foundation. His work at the BBVAMF lies in the field of training and HR where he oversees several projects with different Latin American Universities. He works and lives in Panama City, Panama where the Foundation has opened its first Latin American office.

Jaime holds a B.A. in Business Administration from CUNEF and a diploma in finance from the London School of Economics. Before entering the field of microfinance he worked in Fixed Income Sales for BNP Paribas and Société Générale in London and Madrid, respectively.
