Thunderbird students, staff and alumni joined forces on July 23, 2011, for a day of community service in the neighborhoods around campus. Separate groups of ThunderCares volunteers visited a domestic violence shelter, a homeless shelter, a community call center and a refugee center for the Lost Boys of Sudan.
“ThunderCares is a great day where the Thunderbird community comes together and performs a one-day blitz of charitable activities,” said Leah Thorstenson ’11, group coordinator at Turn a New Leaf domestic violence shelter in Glendale.
“We’re here because we want to give back and have a little fun doing it,” said Morgan Siegal ’12, group coordinator at Central Arizona Shelter Services in Phoenix. Learn more in the video below.
