Hola T-birds!
Hope you guys are having a great second module. Here is my dose of what your favorite student government is up to.
Candy Grams for Halloween: The candy grams initiative the Student Government organized to raise funds for the class gift was extremely successful and managed to raise around $650! Thanks to all of you who love your friends and decided to let them know that you do through our candy grams. I think we found a good fund raising idea for Valentine’s Day next year.
Mr. and Ms. Thunderbird: Another fund raising initiative for the class gift and another huge success! 12 contestants managed to raise almost $1700 for the class gift! At the event the contestants showcased their talents, and provided world class entertainment to their peers. At the end of the event Amar Haware, a 6th trimester MBA student, was crowned Mr. Thunderbird! A huge shout to all the contestants and more importantly to all of you who donated to them. With the two fund raisers, the Fall 2013 TSG has managed to raise almost $2500 dollars! Yemile Ojeda, the TSG Alumni Relations & Gift Giving chair, will get in touch with all of you to understand what all of you would want as the class gift.
Spring 2014 TSG elections kick-off: Last Thursday, the first step towards the formation of the Spring TSG took place with the mandatory meeting for students wishing to run for TSG President & TSG Vice President. The candidates were advised of the guidelines and timeline for the election process. Good luck to all those contesting in the elections. More updates will follow next week.
Spring 2014 registration: Confused about what classes to take in the Spring trimester? Please make sure you do your research by end of Sunday as the registrations for classes opens on Access Thunderbird on Monday, November 11 and continues until 10:30pm (AZ time) on Sunday, November 17. Your individual assigned registration date and time was sent to your e-mail account on Friday, November 1 (from registrars@thunderbird.edu). This information, along with instructions on how to register and a list of Concentration courses are available on the Registrar’s page on MTB (“Registration FAQs”). Please note that you will not be able to submit your registration prior to your scheduled day and time.

Summerims no longer offered: The revised MBA curriculum has affected the academic calendar going forward and cannot accommodate Summerims beginning in 2014. Students who were planning on a Summerim opportunity to fulfill graduation requirements should re-evaluate their academic plans. Students are encouraged to reach out to Paula Friesen, Academic Advisor in the CMC, for any questions.
Toolbox for student use: The security services department has kindly put together a toolbox for student use. The toolbox contains handy tools like screwdrivers and such. If you feel you need to use the toolbox, please contact the security services office on ext. 7223. Security will take down your student ID when borrowing the tool box.
