This is part of Das Tor’s ongoing series, “Club Spotlight,” in which different Thunderbird clubs describe their mission, goals, and why students should consider joining their group.
Thunderbird Global Moves was born out of the initiative of T-Bird dance lovers who are passionate about this performing art in such a way that we decided to share with the student community the therapeutic benefits that dance brings to the body and mind.
As we belong to a global school, our Global Moves classes tend to lead the attendees into a journey of rhythms from so many different parts of the world, from Latin America (Salsa and Forró), passing by the North America (Modern Jazz and Hip Hop), to Asia (Bollywood) and Hawaii (Hula).
The best of all is that beginners do not need to feel intimidated by the instructors, who are also students, making the class environment even more vibrant and fun. It is spectacular to hear that the school is so full of talented students who also want to contribute to club events with their forms of expressing the phenomenal art of dance. It also contributes to unplugging and de-stressing students from their hectic routine of studies and assignments. It is so rewarding for an instructor when a class attendee starts expressing him/herself with so much confidence and vulnerability in front of the reflected image in the mirror. It’s pretty evident that the person who leaves the classroom is not the same one who entered the class, as he/she seems much happier and lighter.
Here you have the rest of the classes that will be offered in Fall B by Global Moves:
If you would like to teach a dance or move from your region in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the leadership team. To close our 2021 activities, Thunderbird Global Moves will host the last Pub Night of the year jointly with LGBT-Birds + Club on November 18th. It will be at a place that will ensure a fun environment for all, which will be announced soon.
