This is part of Das Tor’s ongoing series, “Club Spotlight,” in which different Thunderbird clubs describe their mission, goals, and why students should consider joining their group.
Hi, everyone! I am Florentina Lang, President of the Thunderbird Campus Ambassadors (CAs). I am originally from Austria and am studying Global Digital Transformation and Global Business with an expected graduation of May 2022.
As President of the Campus Ambassadors, I oversee our monthly General Meetings, where all CAs are invited. These meetings are aimed at building relationships, updating CAs on events, campus tours, and other important matters. In addition to our monthly meetings, the Campus Ambassador Leadership Team (Jonas Narh, Mika Zaharescu, Matt Witenstein, and I) meets every week with our amazing advisor Katie Prado and our newly onboarded members Emilie Ehrman and Melissa Ballesteros. We discuss internal matters and upcoming events.
An important project we are currently working on is an exclusive Donor Appreciation event with the Dean and some of Thunderbird’s most generous donors. The CAs also have been incredibly involved during Regional Night as greeters, food servers, and tour guides for our alumni. I also had the opportunity to represent the CAs during an exclusive lunch with Dean Khagram and outstanding alumna Karen Simon. Lastly, we had a CA social event recently where we all went to The Churchill and celebrated all the amazing accomplishments CAs had achieved this semester. We are truly thankful for all our members and their contributions!
As Thunderbird says on its website, “Thunderbird gathers an elite group of students from around the world to serve as Campus Ambassadors to support fellow students and prospective students through their academic journeys.” I personally love being a Campus Ambassador because I truly enjoy working alongside my classmates. The CAs are a very diverse group of students coming from 18 different countries, and I love learning about everyone’s culture. I am so incredibly proud of our current CAs and all their hard work this semester. They have truly exceeded our expectations.
