Recent activities:
1. CMC are accepting applications for 3 new PCAs to begin work in January
Have you been helping your classmates with résumés, interviews, or networking? Do you have strong knowledge of a particular industry, job function or region? Do you feel others could benefit from your experience? Apply to be a Peer Career Advisor and assist other students in their career planning…and get paid to do it!
PCAs serve as an extension of the CMC amongst the student body. In addition to presenting workshops and working on special projects for the CMC, PCAs meet with students between 8 and 10 hours per week to conduct résumé/cover letter critiques, career strategy meetings, mock interviews, and provide general guidance related to their field of expertise.
As students, you know best who would make a good PCA. Is there someone who has been helping classmates and stands out as a great candidate for this role? Please send referrals to careers@thunderbird.edu.
Applications are due Wednesday, November 23. PCA positions begin in January 2012. For a full list of requirements and skills, see the posting in GlobalConnect (#5050). For more information on the PCA program, click on Career Advising from the CMC’s MTB page.
2. CMC will have workshop to help student prepare 2nd round/onsite interviews
(Friday, December 2, from 10-11 am in Snell 29)
If you are wondering what the process looks like for the “fly-backs”, “second round” and “on-site” interviews, the CMC is presenting a group of experts to give you an overview. We’ll have a panel made up of students that have recently participated in this round of interviews to give an overview of their experience, review how they prepared and take questions from the group. In addition to the student panelists, we’ll have the employer’s perspective represented by two CMC Advisors that have managed this process for previous employers. We’ll look forward to seeing you there.
See more details in Workshop session in GlobalConnect .
The CMC will be closed beginning at 3pm on Wednesday, November 23, returning to the office Monday, November 28. The advising team will be reviewing documents M-W until 5pm.
