27 female entrepreneurs from Haiti will be on campus between October 13-28. This is part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women program (more info here: http://www.goldmansachs.com/citizenship/10000women/index.html). These women are coming to our school to participate in various workshops and events focusing on entrepreneurship skills and developing economies locally and nurture the potential of the under served women.
These women will also have goods that can be purchased at the Marketplace which will be held on October 15th from 3-6pm, and October 26 from 3-4pm. This will be open to the public, and cash/credit cards are accepted. Sessions to train them in presentation skills and business skills, the women will be asked to present a viable business proposal to panel of judges who will access their abilities on this and give them feedback accordingly. Most of the women only speak French, hence we are searching for French speakers to not only be a part of this judging panel but also help us support the women through the activities that they will be going through for the two weeks. Ambassador Melanne Verveer, will be our Keynote speaker for the Commencement ceremony of the Haitian women joining us for the two weeks. The commencement ceremony will be held on October 26 from 1-2pm.
