U.S. Senator visits Thunderbird

On October 23rd, Thunderbird had a special visitor on campus. U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), currently serving his third term, dropped in to meet students from the school.

As a Special Adviser to Ambassador Barrett, Sen. Kyl toured the campus, spoke with students and even dropped in on an Executive MBA class! He later sat down for a luncheon with various faculty members and students.

– A former lawyer, Sen. Kyl received both his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Arizona.

– He was elected unanimously by his colleagues in 2008 to serve as Republican Whip, the second-highest position in Senate Republican leadership.

– TIME magazine recognized Senator Kyl as one the “World’s 100 Most Influential People” in 2010.
