It’s that time of year, you know, the time of year that most boyfriends dread (no, not an anniversary). It’s the time of year when all girls get pink pedicures, every other commercial on television is from a jeweler, and the price of chocolate sky rockets. It’s Valentine’s Day! Not sure what to do yet for the big day? Don’t fret, because I am here to give you a few ideas!

Tiki Time

Hula’s Modern Tiki, located in Central Phoenix, is hosting an anti-Valentine’s Day party. Hula’s will be providing all night happy hour, as well as $10 Hula’s Heartbreak Baja Fish Tacos. Are you really bitter at an ex? Bring a photo, and they will burn it for you in the firepit. Best part of all is that they will give you a $5 gift certificate to use at a later date. Sounds like a plan to me!

Get Down With Da Vinci

The Arizona Science Center is offering a Valentine’s Day Dinner with Da Vinci under the stars in the historic Heritage Square in Downtown Phoenix. Guests will be given a 3 course, pre fixed meal with unique wine pairings, accompanied by intimate music. Guests will also be given exclusive access to the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit, in its premier week here in Phoenix. Ticket prices for non-members are $135 per couple, or $125 per couple for members.

Go Back in Time

While it’s the time of year for love, it is also the time of year that the Renaissance Festival is in town! Travel back in time and head out to the East Valley to the Pleasure Feast, a 1-½ long show that is accompanied by a 5 course meal, beer and wine. The show can be a bit raunchy at times, so prudish adults are advised to perhaps sit this one out. Tickets are $77.49 each, and include the cost of entrance into the festival, dinner, drinks, tax, entertainment and a souvenir.

Get Sweaty

While there may be no events planned, perhaps you feel like working up a sweat? Whether you go alone, with friends or with a date, a workout is always a mood booster, especially on Valentine’s Day. Head over to The Madison Improvement Club in Arcadia and participate in a spin class. First classes are free for residents, or $10 for students. Not so much into spin? The MIC also has yoga classes, and you can get lean and limber, all the while watching the beautiful bodies around you do the same.

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of things to do around Phoenix for the big day, I believe that these are some of the most interesting, above average things to do for the big day! I hope that this list inspires you to get out and explore Phoenix, and helps you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
