This past Wednesday, Thunderbird’s very own Technology Business Club started off the trimester with its first Microsoft Excel Training Workshop, part of a trimester-long series of training workshops it plans to provide students. Instructed by current T-bird MBA, Tiago Ferraz, students were given a thorough introduction of the software, along with shortcut tips, selecting and entering data, and designing and formatting a summary sheet. Future classes will provide more complex topics, as the weeks go on.

Thunderbird and the world of technology. Many students first think of IT when they think of a “technology club”, but the Technology club is more than that, helping people to realize that technology is in almost every industry, and learning about technology, such as business software, can help them advance in almost any field of work. The Excel Training Workshop series is positioned at the core of that belief, and drives the club’s mission in a way that provides students with skills that are crucial in the workplace. Aside from the Excel Training Workshop series, the club is also planning to start Bloomberg Terminal and SPSS Training Workshops in the coming weeks.

The Excel Training Workshops will continue next week, building upon skills that were taught last week. Whether you’re a beginner or just in need of a refresher course, all students are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Workshops are scheduled bi-weekly, and room locations and times may vary.
