The town of Stei is situated in the western half of Romania, and is home to approximately 7,800 people, with access to another 35,000 in the region. Newly discovered hot springs are creating new development possibilities in Stei. One of the primary projects that local authorities are interested in is a Spa Center which will use the water from the hot springs.
Michael R. Allen is an MBA candidate focusing on International Marketing and Strategy. He holds a Masters of Science from Thunderbird and a Bachelors of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Brigham Young University – Idaho. He also studied performing arts including theater, music performance, and ballroom dance. Michael is fluent in Spanish and Mandarin.
Dallin Kauffman is currently an MBA candidate with an emphasis in Finance and will graduate in December 2015. Dallin graduated with Honors from Thunderbird’s Master of Science in Global Management program with an emphasis in Marketing in December 2014. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from Utah Valley University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2012.
Fiona Teerlink graduated from her Master of Science in Global Management degree from Thunderbird with honors in December 2014. She is now an MBA candidate, with a focus on strategy and consulting, graduating in December 2015. Originally from The Netherlands, Fiona grew up in Germany and then returned to complete her secondary education in The Netherlands. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in the United Kingdom, she worked with the Sponsorship and Development department of the Edinburgh International Festival. Professionally, she focused on event management, customer service and international sponsorship.
Tom Yu is currently a second year MBA student with a focus on Brand and Product Management, and received his Master of Science in Global Management in December 2014 from Thunderbird. He is originally from Taiwan, immigrated to the United States in 2002, and later graduated from Arizona State university in 2012 with a double major in Psychology and Communications, and a minor in Japanese Language. He is fluent in English and Mandarin, conversational in Taiwanese, with basic knowledge of Japanese and Spanish.
The other TEM Lab teams this Fall are going to Nepal, Peru, and Senegal.
