The Thunderbird Rugby Football Club sponsored a Red Cross Blood Drive on campus on March 2, from 10am to 3pm. There were 15 people from Thunderbird and Glendale area who donated blood.
The Rugby Team organized a similar event last semester and they worked with TSG to reserve the space and distribute flyers. The event was promoted to the local community as through the local YMCA adjacent to campus. This is an yearly event and Patrick Shields (MA ’17, US), captain of the Rugby team mentioned they expect to host again next year. He added “Donating blood is an easy way to make a difference in someone’s life. It is an easy process that leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment because the Red Cross says that each donation will save three lives. This is one of the Red Cross’s best activities and I will always do what I can to support this cause.”
