Advise a Chef!
Host: TSG and Chartwells
How would you like to show off your cooking skills by advising our chefs on food from where you come from and in the way you like it? TSG and Chartwells are working together on a program that can let you help in the kitchen. Contact us if you’re interested!

Americas Regional Night

This school has some very talented, international students who wish to showcase their diverse cultures to friends, families, professors, staff, and alumni. They do so with the most extraordinary performances at social, on-campus events called Regional Nights. (See videos here). TSG needs your help to make these nights shine even brighter this Fall.

AZCIV China Town Hall
Date: Monday, October 29th
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Scottsdale Community College, Turquoise Room
Host: AZCIV and TSG (Nikhil Kaul and Nicole Johnson — facilitation and contact)
AZCIV is an initiative that connects international visitors with professionals in and outside the community.
The Town Hall will open with a webcast from Beijing featuring Gary Locke, U.S. Ambassador to China. National Committee President Steve Orlins will moderate this 45-minute portion of the program, comprised of a 15-minutes talk, followed by half an hour of Ambassador Locke responding to emailed questions from throughout the country

GBSN MBA Challenge
Can an MBA change the world? The annual Global Business School Network video contest isn’t for several months, but students can start planning now on their submission. The contest allows MBA students to show how they’re applying their business school education to make a difference in the developing world.

Clinton Global Initiative University
Deadline: Monday, October 22, 2012
Apply to become a campus representative for the Global Clinton Initiative University! Established in 2007, the organization is an extension of the Clinton Initiative, seeking to engage the next generation of leaders to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.

10,000 Women
27 female entrepreneurs from Haiti will be on campus Oct 13-28. This is part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women program (more info here: http://www.goldmansachs.com/citizenship/10000women/index.html).
-Some of the women have goods that can be purchased at the Marketplace events on October 15th from 3-6pm, and October 26 from 3-4pm. This is open to the public, and cash/credit cards are accepted.
-The keynote speaker is Ambassador Melanne Verveer, who will be speaking at the Commencement ceremony on October 26 from 1-2pm.
-French-speaking volunteers are still needed. Various opportunities are available to work with the Global Cohort. Just email TSG Community Outreach.
ThunderCares
