How do I register?

Registration is managed by each student registering themselves on “Access Thunderbird,” which can be accessed on the left side of your MTB homepage or by clicking here.  Go to the Students Menu then click Register for Classes.  Be proactive and make sure you have your password before your registration time. If you have forgotten your password, go to Reset My Password in Access.

When do I register?

You will receive an e-mail from the Registrar’s Office with your Scheduled Registration Date and Time.  This information is also available on the Registrar’s page on MTB (Registration FAQs > When is my scheduled registration time?).  If you try to register before your assigned date and time, the system will give you an error message.  The registration system will be available to students beginning Monday, November 11 at their scheduled time and will remain available until 10:30pm (Arizona time) on Sunday, November 17.  Keep in mind that the system shuts down each night from 10:30pm-12:00am for routine maintenance.

How do I know when classes are being offered?

The Spring 2014 schedule is available on the left side of your main MTB homepage! Click on “Class Schedules” to search for professors, times, and section numbers for Spring classes.

How do I know which classes to register?

Take some time to check your Student Catalog to learn more about program requirements, course descriptions, etc.  If you’re still not sure, please contact Paula Friesen before registration begins.

Waitlist

If you want to add yourself to a waitlist, please keep in mind that waitlists are available for GF/ST elective courses.  If enrollment warrants, waitlists may be opened for select core courses.  Click here for detailed information about the waitlist policy.

What about internships?

If you are unsure about an internship opportunity please register for courses. Deadlines for registering an Internship can be located in your Student Catalog or you can contact Paula Friesen.

What else should I know?

Don’t forget that if you have a hold on your student account, you need to resolve it before your assigned date and time as any hold will prevent you from registering.

It is faster to register if you know not only the course number you’re interested in taking (i.e. GM 4101), but also the section (A1, A2, B3, etc.).

For section numbering, the letter indicates the section (when there are multiple sections within a module/trimester) and the number indicates the length of the course (1=first-half, 2=second-half, 3=full-trimester).  It’s best to have back-up classes and sections ready in case you find that any of your classes are full.

The Registrar’s page on MTB is a great resource for registration information, dates and FAQ’s!

And finally, if you have made it to the end of this article, congratulations – you are now ready for Spring 2014 Registration!  Good luck and happy registering!
