It’s the time of year in Arizona when orange blossoms sweeten the air, the night air gets just a bit warmer and the buzz of stadium lights start to flicker across the valley. It’s March in Arizona and that means Spring Training for Major League Baseball teams.  Lucky for us, Thunderbird is smack dab in the middle of it all.

15 teams play in the Cactus League throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area and we are just minutes away from the Peoria Sports Complex, home to the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.  Games are already in play and will continue, daily, through the end of March.  It is a unique opportunity to see marquee players on much smaller fields and at substantially lower prices.  Which means each team’s fan boys and girls descend into Sky Harbor in a flurry of excitement and ready to have a good time. During this special time of year, hotels are full, friends are visiting and in a matter of days it appears everyone in town is on vacation. They are. All of which makes Glendale much more interesting.
