As the trimester winds down, while students are graduating or preparing for a module abroad, you may find yourself wondering what to do with all of the “stuff” that you have accumulated while at Thunderbird. Thunderbird Student Government is hosting a Donations Drive, with the bulk of donations going to the International Rescue Committee’s resettlement shop, a place where refugees get to pick out items for free for their new homes in the United States.
The Donations Drive begins Monday, December 3rd and continues until Friday, December 14th. Donation bins will be located in dorm lounges, as well as throughout campus in public areas. Please only donate gently used or new items, and open toiletries will not be accepted.
For further questions, please email Josephine Chiang at jochiang@global.t-bird.edu.
I highly encourage everyone to donate at least one item to the TSG Donations Drive. It doesn’t need to be expensive, just give something useful. This is a very solid and concrete way to help refugees entering into the United States who left everything behind.
