This Thursday the Thunderbird Honor Council will be putting on its annual Ethics Panel in Yount 100 during dead hour at 1:10 PM.
This year’s theme for the panel is “The Ethical Frontier: Operating a Controversial Business”. The idea behind the panel came from discussions the Honor Council had about the overlap of ethics and morality in the business world. Being a global business school, Thunderbird students and alumni constantly face ethical and moral choices that have to be made and it is important to understand how to go about making these decisions. Therefore, the Honor Council has brought together a group of three panelists that will discuss their industries and how they tackle ethical and moral issues in their professional lives. The panelists are as follows:
- Mr. Bryan Howard, CEO, Planned Parenthood Arizona
- Ms. Lauren Carson, CEO, Medical Marijuana Dispensary
- Ms. Dottie Watson, Senior Director of Sales, Paychex Insurance Agency
Each one of these panelists represents a different industry where morality plays a big part of their daily work. This panel will be moderated by Professor Michael Finney and he will be asking questions that will range from being industry specific to general questions about the business practices of the panelists. The event will also have a live twitter feed showing where students will be able to tweet their questions and if time permits, these questions will also be presented to the panelists. In lieu of the Yount auditorium filling up, there will be a spillover space in Yount 100.
We are very excited for this event and hope to see you there!
